This article is not meant to be a comprehensive work regarding the Millennium. It is meant as a supplement to the much more complete descriptions found on the millennialtemple.tv website. Please consider:

Zech 14:10-11

10 All the land will be changed into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem; but Jerusalem will rise and remain on its site from Benjamin’s Gate as far as the place of the First Gate to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s wine presses. 11 People will live in it, and there will no longer be a curse, for Jerusalem will dwell in security.

NASU

Without this verse, it would be impossible to locate the House geographically on a map. To view the locations of the tribes of millennial Israel, millennial Jerusalem, and the House, please purchase pictures 02 and 03 of the Schematics on the website. These verses tell us that Jerusalem will survive the ordeal of the great tribulation. It will rise from its ruins and be rebuilt to become the renowned exalted city whose name in the Millennium will be: “The Lord is there.” (Ezekiel 48:35)

The city of Jerusalem, which literally means “The City of Peace”, has multiple names in the Old Testament that are distinctly millennial in context. In addition to its name in 48:35, during the Millennium, it will be called:

  • City of Truth (Zechariah 8:3)
  • The Throne of the Lord (Jeremiah 3:17)
  • The Lord is our Righteousness (Jeremiah 33:16)
  • The City of Righteousness (Isaiah 1:26)
  • The Holy City (Isaiah 52:1)
  • City of the Lord (Isaiah 60:14)
  • Zion (Isaiah 60:14)
  • My Delight is in Her (Isaiah 62:4)

The question naturally arises, “Why is the city of Ezekiel 45:6 and 48:35 not referred to as Jerusalem? If it is Jerusalem then why is it not called Jerusalem?”  These questions have a simple answer rooted in practicality. This answer is found in the enormous size of the Lord’s House, also known as Ezekiel’s Temple of the Old Testament, relative to the size of the city described in Ezekiel 48:35, which we believe to be Old Testament Jerusalem and the Jerusalem of today. In totality both are the personal residences of Jesus during the Millennium. The House itself has dimensions of 500 x 500 rods or one square mile (Ezekiel 42:15-20). Jesus will sit on His throne in its center in a structure we refer to as the Inner Temple. He may also have another throne located within the center of the city. The Holy Allotment of Ezekiel 45:6 and 48:8-35 is an area of 25,000 x 25,000 cubits or eight and one third by eight and one third miles. It contains the House on its north side and the city known as Old Testament Jerusalem on its south side. We believe that this whole area will, during the Millennium, be referred to as “Jerusalem” by the nations of the world.

During the Millennium, there could be the following conversation between two millennial citizens:

Citizen 1: “We are going up to see Jerusalem for the first time and our family is very excited to make this trip.”

Citizen 2: “Our family is also going up. Are you going to worship at the House first or are you going to visit the Zion first?”

Thus, in the Millennium there will be two distinct geographic locations both of which will be collectively known as Jerusalem: The House of the Lord also known as Ezekiel’s Temple and the city of Ezekiel 48:35, also known as OT Jerusalem. Pictures 02 and 03 of the Schematics found on the millennialtemple.tv website show these locations.

Both the House and the city will have moderate geographical elevations above the plain on which they are situated, as indicated by Isaiah 2:2 and Micah 4:1. The structures on both locations will be higher than the hills surrounding the plain of Zechariah 14:10. Both of these structures are sources for the millennial rivers described in Ezekiel 47 and Zechariah 14:8. Therefore, It makes sense these elevations will exist since it is obvious that water must flow downhill.
