Description
03-Holy Allotment
This map shows the important divisions of the land inside the Holy Allotment of Ezekiel 45. We believe that the Temple is located in the middle of the Lord’s allotment as shown in this schematic, which is not in the geographical center of the 25,000 x 25,000 cubits (approximately 8 1/3 x 8 1/3 miles) holy portion or holy allotment of Ezekiel 45 or Ezekiel 48:20. According to Dr. Don Wilkins of the Lockman Foundation, the Hebrew word for “middle” is and we quote “a very general term, probably best thought of as ‘in the midst of’. Whether the object is at the exact middle (center) or not is a matter of context, not the meaning of the Hebrew word. So, when we use ‘middle’ as a translation, we often have an inexact middle in mind, like throwing a stick in the middle of a lake. We’re trying to avoid ‘midst’ because it’s an archaic term.” We agree with Dr. Wilkins and believe that the context of Ezekiel 45:2-4 and 48:8, 21 indicates the location of the Temple as shown in our maps.
