Description

The 100 x 100 cubits (175 x 175 feet) measurement of the Inner Court made in 40:47 does not include all the pavement that belongs to the Inner Court. Ezekiel 41:9-10 and 42:3 make clear that the 20 cubits (35 feet) wide pavement on either side of the Inner Temple between the 60 cubits (105 feet) wide Inner Temple platform (41:8) and the outer or wall chambers of 41:9-10, belongs to the Inner Court. The length of this pavement is 100 cubits (41:13). These pavements are the separate areas of 41:14 that together with the width of the Inner Temple which includes its platform, equal a width of 100 cubits. These separate areas do not belong to the House, i.e., the Inner Temple. They belong to the Inner Court. Seen to the right setting on the Inner Temple platform, are the Side Chambers on the south side of the House. The side pillar of the Nave (41:1) is also seen. Its length and width is 6 cubits (10.5 feet). In the distance straight ahead is the stairway to the south door of the Side Chambers (Ezekiel 41:11).  The 5-cubits (8.75 feet) width of the free space of 41:11 that is in front of the Side Chambers is also visible straight ahead. At the top and directly in front of the stairway as one ascends it, is the 5 x 5  (L x W) cubits (8.75 x 8.75 feet) threshold of the south door (41:11, 16). This threshold is not visible in this picture. To the left are the southern chambers for the Levitical priests located inside the end of the east wall of the inner court (Ezekiel 42:10-12) that has been lengthened by 100 cubits and widened by 94 cubits (164.5 feet) on its south side. Another view of the southwest Inner Court porch (see pictures 51 and 53) is seen. On the left in the distance are the three stories of galleries which are set atop the larger section of the southern Zadokian chambers. Traveling down the exact middle of the 100 x 50 (L x W) cubits (175 x 87.5 feet) south side of the Inner Court is the 1-cubit (21 inches) wide 1-cubit deep trough of the millennial river (47:1). This trough is 5-cubits (8.75 feet) south of the ledge (suspended floor) of the Altar of Sacrifice.
